Registering the iPhone 18 Pro Max on your Passport costs Rs 123,884, while the CNIC route costs Rs 135,384, which is Rs 11,500 more because it includes income tax.
You can pay the Passport amount only if you brought the phone into Pakistan yourself and register it within 60 days of arrival. If you bought it in Pakistan, it was sent to you, or the 60 days have passed, you pay the CNIC amount, and a late fine may also apply.

Yes. From the Finance Act 2026, tax on a phone registered through PTA's DIRBS can be paid in instalments, as long as everything is paid before the end of the financial year in which the phone was imported.
An unregistered iPhone 18 Pro Max is blocked from Pakistani mobile networks, so calls, SMS and mobile data stop working with a local SIM. It still works on Wi-Fi.
